Vix Anderton - Overcoming the Perfectionism Trap

Vix Anderson

In this episode I interview Vix Anderton who describes her experience with perfectionism as a coping mechanism that leads to unhelpful strategies in life. Vix is a coach and former intelligence officer at the Royal Air Force, who has pursued perfection as a modus operandi during her career. By understanding how it worked against her, she soon realised that perfectionism isn’t something you need to overcome or push through, while in fact, that whole approach is perfectionism in action.

Vix is hoping to change the way we deal with perfectionism through somatic work and embodiment tools that connect oneself deeply to natural flow, intelligence and creativity.

This episode interests anyone looking to understand how pursuing perfectionism creates unhealthy habits which lead to exhaustion and burnout, and why, and what, are the somatic approaches that create healthier relationship with core needs, which in turn can lead to a healthier and balanced pursuit for perfection.
